The Wissahickon Educational Opportunities Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) community based organization that supports the Wissahickon School District. Since 1992, the Foundation’s goal is to provide funding and support for innovative, educational programs which are not within the school’s traditional budget or curriculum and create no additional burden to the taxpayer. These programs should enrich the experiences of students, teachers and residents of our community. Proposals are submitted by faculty and building Principals. Grants awarded have supported all levels and subjects in education across the learning spectrum in all of the Wissahickon schools. Technology support, physical education, confidence building, anti-bullying programs are just a few of the many programs WEOF supports. Funds are raised through private donations, staff tribute and fundraising events. Your donations allow the foundation to achieve its mission. Truly, it is community support that puts the “WE” in WEOF.
Grant Funding
Grants are competitive. Requests under $2000 are considered at each board meeting (six times annually). Requests over $2000 are considered semiannually, in January and June. They are available to all educators, businesses and individuals interested in sharing their knowledge and expertise with students from the Wissahickon School District.
